The Sixth Sense
Every continent has a smell, a feather of a breeze upon your face, a dust scattered light. Each is different, but when you land at an airport in Africa and disembark, you only have to close your eyes and breathe in to know you have arrived.
Each journey leaves a trace across the senses, from the tones of the earth to the greying of the sky. This portfolio is a portrait of Samburu County in Kenya. Shot whilst on assignment, I wanted to have a snapshot of that particular resonance to take home with me - to be left with a simple distilled version of that assault.
No time was taken over these images, just snaps from the back of vehicles or whilst walking through an acacia filled bush - but together they transport me back to that different place.
